Kinnect
What is Kinnect?
A place to take relationships seriously, starting with yourself.
It's for Nigerian professionals, singles and couples. The Community comes first: four rooms you can open without an account. In the app today you'll also find Kiki, an AI guide. Human coaches and introductions aren't open yet.
Who is it for?
Adults, 18 and over, in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Whether you're starting out, building a life, or beginning again after a relationship ends. Couples are welcome too. Other cities come later.
Is Kinnect only for singles?
No.
Couples have the Together room in the Community, and Membership will be open to couples too. Introductions are for singles for now.
How is it different from a dating app?
You start with yourself, not a feed.
There's no feed to scroll, no browsing and no grid of faces. When introductions open, they'll come a few at a time, each with written reasons, and every one will start with seven days of talking by nickname, with photos hidden.
Can Kinnect promise me a relationship?
No.
Nobody can promise who you'll meet. That depends on you and the other person. What Kinnect can do is help you understand yourself and, when introductions open, introduce you carefully and support you while you decide.
Introductions
How do introductions work?
They're not open yet. When they are, up to three a week.
Once you're ready, your deal-breakers, the ages you'd like to meet, your values and your assessment will shape who we introduce. Each introduction will come with the reasons, written from what you both said.
When will they arrive?
Once a week, all together.
Each week's introductions will land at the same time, and the app will tell you when your first ones are coming.
Why haven't I been introduced to anyone yet?
Introductions aren't open yet.
When they open, they'll start once your profile and readiness are done, and the app will show you what's left. Hard deal-breakers and the ages you choose narrow who we can introduce, and at launch introductions will be within your city.
Some weeks there may be fewer than three. We'd rather leave a gap than introduce the wrong person.
Why will photos be hidden at first?
So you meet the person before the picture.
Every introduction will start as a seven-day Talking Stage. You'll see each other's nickname, age and city, and photos stay hidden until you both choose to reveal.
Can I pass on someone?
Yes, once introductions open.
Passing will always be fine and won't use a replacement. If you'd like someone else in their place, you'll be able to ask for a replacement a couple of times a month.
Do I have to pay to be introduced?
No.
Free members will be introduced the same way as everyone else. To start a conversation, one of you will need Member Plus. If they start it, you can reply for free.
Kiki and the coaches
Who is Kiki?
An AI guide in the app. Not a person.
Kiki is an AI, and the app says so wherever she appears. She coaches you only after you say yes, and until you do she stays a guide. When you've said yes, she'll help you get ready for conversations and make decisions you're proud of, and she'll never bring up Membership while she's coaching you.
What happens to what I tell Kiki?
While coaching is off, nothing you type is sent.
Coaching is off until you say yes, and while it's off nothing you type goes to the AI.
If you say yes, your messages go to Anthropic, the company whose AI (Claude) Kiki runs on, outside Nigeria. Anthropic may hold them for up to 30 days. Kinnect keeps your Kiki conversations for up to 24 months, and you can delete them anytime.
Turn coaching off in Account and Kiki stops at once, and your Kiki conversations and what she remembered are deleted. A report you've already filed keeps the messages it was about. Say no and Kiki stays a guide.
What if I'm not okay?
Real helplines are one tap away in the app.
In the app, helplines are on Home, on the Kiki tab and in Account. Kinnect isn't an emergency service, so if you're in danger, call a helpline or go to someone near you now.
You can also write to support@kinnectapp.net. A person reads every message.
Who are the coaches?
None is listed yet.
Every coach will work under their own name. We check their credentials with the body that issued them before their name goes up, and a coach's page will show only what we've checked. Those checks aren't finished, so no coach is listed yet.
Coaching isn't medical, legal or financial advice.
Can I talk to a coach one to one?
Not yet.
One-to-one sessions with a coach come later. This answer will say how to book one when they do.
Membership and money
Is Kinnect free?
Yes. The app sells nothing yet.
Everything in the app today is free: the Community, your profile, and Kiki.
Membership's paid plans aren't on sale yet. When they are, their prices will be here and in the app before you pay anything.
How will I cancel Member Plus?
In your App Store or Google Play settings.
Nothing is on sale yet. When Member Plus is, you'll cancel it in the store you bought it from. Deleting your account won't cancel it, so cancel first.
What happens when Member Plus ends?
You keep your account and go back to Member.
Your profile stays. What Member Plus adds will stop at the end of the period you paid for.
Community and events
What is the Community?
Four rooms, free to open without an account.
For Her, For Him, Beginning Again and Together. You can open them in the app before you make an account, and on this site's Community page. There are no articles yet. Every piece will be by a named person, and the rooms will be moderated by people.
Does Kinnect run events?
Not yet.
Small hosted evenings come later. Mixers will be balanced by invitation, not by price, and grouped by age, with a host or coach in the room and verified guests only.
What are Sponsored Dates?
Not yet. They come after launch.
We'll start with one partner venue, where members get a small thank-you for a first date there, like a welcome drink. Every partner venue will be labelled in the app. Until then, plan your first date your way.
Safety and your account
Is Kinnect safe?
You can delete your account anytime, and real helplines are one tap away.
Kinnect is for adults, 18 and over. In the app, real helplines are on Home, on the Kiki tab and in Account, where you can also delete your account at any time. When introductions open, you'll be able to report or block from any screen, a person will review every report, and photos will stay hidden until you both reveal.
Do you check who people are?
Yes, before anyone is introduced.
Introductions aren't open yet. When they are, we'll check you are who you say you are before you're introduced to anyone. You won't need the check to open the Community.
Who sees my profile?
Your nickname, not your name.
Other members see the nickname you choose, never your first name, which stays private. Sensitive details, like your faith, are used only if you agree.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, or on our website.
In the app, go to Account and choose Delete my account. Without signing in, use our delete account page.
In the app, the sensitive details you shared go straight away and the rest within 30 days, and for a short time you can still sign in and keep your account. The delete account page explains how its email route works.
I was on the old Kinnect app. What happens to my account?
You'll sign up again, and it's quicker.
We'll invite earlier members by email. You sign in with a code, agree afresh and choose a nickname. Your city, photos and deal-breakers come with you.
Sensitive details, like your faith, don't. You add them again only if you want to.
The old app's delete option doesn't delete anything. To delete your old account, use our delete account page.
How do I contact Kinnect?
