These are the terms for the beta of the Kinnect app, version 0.2-beta. They are shorter than our full terms will be, because the beta does less. When the full terms are ready, we will show them to you and ask you to agree again before you carry on.
1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and KINNECT CODE (a business name registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, BN 6983270), of 15 Godwin Omene Street, Lekki 1, Lagos, Lagos State ("Kinnect", "we"), when you use the Kinnect app. Please read them with our privacy policy.
2. This is a beta
The beta is an early version of Kinnect. Some things will change, some may not work as they should, and we may pause or remove a feature while we fix it. If something goes wrong, please tell us.
3. What the beta includes
- The Community: writing on relationships, in rooms you can read. You can't post or comment in this version.
- Kiki, your AI coach. Kiki is an AI, not a person and not a therapist. Her coaching is off unless you turn it on, and we ask for your separate agreement first; until then Kiki is in guide mode, with no chat. If you turn coaching on, your messages to Kiki go to Anthropic outside Nigeria, so Claude can write her replies. Our privacy policy explains what is sent and how long it is kept.
- Your profile and your account settings.
The beta does not include introductions, messages between members, coaching sessions or events.
4. Who can use Kinnect
You must be 18 or over. We ask for your date of birth when you join. If it shows you are under 18, we close the account.
5. Kinnect is free in the beta
The beta sells nothing. There are no prices, subscriptions or payments in this version. If we introduce paid membership later, it will come with its own terms, which you will see before you buy. In the app, you would pay through the App Store or Google Play.
6. Your account
You sign in with a code we send to your email. There is no password. Keep your email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your Kinnect account.
Give us true details about yourself. Your date of birth is how we keep Kinnect for adults.
7. Not professional advice
Nothing on Kinnect, including Community pieces and anything Kiki says or shows you, is professional advice. It is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice.
Kinnect is not a crisis service. If you are not safe, use the helplines in the app straight away, or contact your local emergency services.
8. How to treat people here
Be honest, be kind, and respect a no. Don't harass anyone, share someone else's private details or photos, pressure anyone to move off Kinnect, ask anyone for money, or use Kinnect for anything sexual or commercial.
You belong here. Report, block, or delete anytime.
9. When we step in
If you break these terms, we may warn you, limit what you can do, or suspend or close your account. A person reviews every report.
10. Leaving
You can take a break or delete your account at any time, in Account. Taking a break is not deleting. Our privacy policy explains what deleting removes and what we keep.
11. No promises about how things turn out
We cannot promise you a relationship, a marriage or any other outcome, and we never will. What happens between two people is up to them.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of Nigeria.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we tell you before the change takes effect, and ask you to agree again where the change needs it. Each version is dated and kept. Our full terms, when they are ready, will be one of those changes.
